COVID-19 Restrictions for TEAM Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series Las Vegas 2023
Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KDE-US) has adopted a mandatory vaccination policy to protect the safety of its attendees. Each attendee 5 years and older will be required to show proof of being up to date and fully vaccinated before entry. (This requirement may change depending on authorization of vaccines for the under 5 age group. We will update this FAQ as the situation evolves.) To be up to date and fully vaccinated, an attendee must have received their second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine or a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, plus their recommended Booster dose if eligible, at least two weeks prior to the event.
Acceptable proof of COVID-19 vaccination includes;
- CLEAR Yu-Gi-Oh! Event Health Pass
- A CDC vaccination card, a WHO vaccination card, or a photo of either card (printed or on an electronic device). The card must state the name of the vaccinated person, the type of vaccine received, and the date of the last dose. All players participating in tournaments and any spectators 18 and older must also show a photo ID that matches the identifying information on the vaccination card.
- Electronic vaccination records provided by a government entity
To assist with the COVID-19 restrictions, KDE-US has partnered with CLEAR Health Pass. Duelists can sign up for free at https://clear.app.link/YUGIOHEVENTS and then upload their vaccination information with CLEAR to create a Yu-Gi-Oh! Event Pass that can be easily shown on their phone.
Children under the age of 5 will not be required to show proof of vaccination, but instead must show documentation of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 24 hours of the event. The test must be a molecular or antigen test with Emergency Use Authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Home tests will not be accepted. The documentation must show the test result, the type of test, the entity issuing the test, and the date of test.
Attendees who are unable to receive a COVID-19 vaccine due to a medical condition must instead show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 24 hours of the event. In addition to the requirements listed above for showing proof of a negative test, these attendees must provide documentation from a healthcare provider verifying that the attendee has a medical exemption from vaccination. This verification must state the attendee’s name, the fact that the attendee is medically exempt, and must be signed by a healthcare provider.
KDE-US will be checking proof of vaccination, proof of negative test results, and medical exemption documentation at the entrance of the event. KDE-US reserves the right to refuse entry to attendees who do not comply with this policy.
Face Masks must be worn at all times during the event.
There will be a dedicated food service area for eating and drinking inside the venue. Food and beverages may not be consumed in any area of the tournament hall except in the dedicated food service area. There will be concessions available, but Duelists will also be able to leave the hall to get food and drink but are responsible for returning on time for any subsequent Matches. If a Duelist has a medical condition that would require them to have food or beverage during a Match, they should let the Head Judge know prior to the start of the event so we can see what accommodations can be made.
How to Register for TEAM Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series Las Vegas 2023
The primary way to register for a TEAM YCS tournament is through online registration. You can register online at https://yugiohregistration.com. You can find when registration opens on the Short FAQ for each event. If space is available at the end of online registration, you will also be able to register on the Friday of the event between 12:00 PM and 7:00 PM at the convention center. There will not be any on-site registration on the Saturday of the event. If space allows, late entry will be opened on Saturday, after the start or Round 1 and Teams will be allowed to register to enter the tournament in the second Round with a Round one Match loss.
To register online, your Team will need to create an account on the https://ygoregistration.com website if you do not already have one. Once you have registered for an account, you can register for the event here:
https://yugiohregistration.com/Events/Events.aspx
Each team member submits their Deck List individually. You do not need to turn in a Deck List when you register, but all team members must turn in a Deck List on the registration website before 10:00 AM the Friday of the event. If anyone on the Team does not submit a Deck List on the registration website by the 10:00 AM deadline, the Team will be automatically dropped from the event. You can create your Deck List on the registration website here:
https://yugiohregistration.com/Decks/MyDeckLists.aspx
If on-site registration is possible, your Team will need a Team YCS Registration Form, a form of Identification, your CARD GAME ID if you have one already, and the registration fee for the tournament. You can get a Registration Form at the event, or you can get one to print at home before the tournament by clicking on this link. There should be one full sheet per Team:
https://www.yugioh-card.com/en/downloads/forms/KDE_RegistrationSheet.pdf
Make sure your Registration Form is filled out completely and your full Team is there before you reach the registration station.
You will also need a CARD GAME ID card – this is the ID number used to track you in the tournament. If you don’t already have one, you will be able to get one at the tournament.
If you have a CARD GAME ID and have lost or forgotten it, you can ask the registration station to look it up for you. If you’ve played in a previous event, they may be able to retrieve your number.
Once you have a completed Registration Form and a CARD GAME ID, you can register for the tournament.
You will also need a Deck List. A Deck List is required to participate in the TEAM YCS tournament. You can get a Deck List form at the event when you register, or you can download one to fill out ahead of time by clicking on this link:
https://www.yugioh-card.com/en/downloads/forms/KDE Team Deck List – English Editable.pdf
This is an editable PDF, so you will be able to type the card names in this form, which should help as your Deck List needs to be legible and complete – write the name of each card in full, and write down how many copies you have in your Deck.
- Make sure your name and CARD GAME ID are on your Deck List.
- Make sure your Deck List exactly matches your Deck.
Your Deck List will be collected at registration. Make sure your Deck List is ready before you reach the front of the registration line.
For both online registration and in-person registration, a Deck List that has been submitted can no longer be changed.
Priority Online Registration opens on Monday, December 19, 2022 at 12:00 PM (PT) for any Duelists who had registered for either YCS Pasadena January 2022 or YCS Las Vegas 2022 and has not previously claimed their Priority Registration.
